7.4.2026 - Tina Kesseli joins the team ¶
Tina Kesseli - a biology laboratory apprentice - is joining our team. She will optimize the DNA extraction methods and later extract the DNA from the sampled trees.
1.2.2026 - New project employee ¶
Domitille Coq--Etchegaray has been hired as a post--doctoral researcher for our project! Domitille did her PhD at the INRAe in Bordeaux (France) and has been a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Zurich for the last years. She is specialized in tree genomics, especially in oaks and beeches. In the project she is responsible for the organization of the field work, the analyses of the genomic data and the communication of the results,
12.12.2025 - Tree species selected ¶
The 5 tree species were selected in consultation with the project support group and taking into account a broad catalog of criteria. They are
- European beech (Fagus sylvatica)
- Downy oak (Quercus pubescens)
- Service tree (Sorbus torminalis)
- Norway maple (Acer platanoides)
- Linden (Tilia platyphyllos/cordata)
The lime tree was selected to study the genetic diversity of the seeds.
1.10.2025 - Project start ¶
The TreeGD project has officially started. The kick-off meeting took place back in September.
